Lascaux Etching includes the following products:

Lascaux Hard Resist
Lascaux Hard resist
A ready-to-use clear hard resist (or ground) which is applied to the etching plate by brush. When dry it is highly acid-resistant. Lascaux Hard Resist can be drawn into with an etching needle, roulette, scraper, steel wool etc. It has a soft, waxy feel, allowing the needle to glide. It can be used on copper, zinc, and steel.
Lascaux Plate-Backing Resist
Lascaux Plate-backing resist

This tinted, scratch-proof etching resist is applied to edges and rear sides of the printing plate in order to prevent undesired biting during the acid bath.

Lascaux Stop-Out Resist
Lascaux Stop-out resist

This tinted etching-ground is easy to apply and can be drawn into with etching tools when it is dry. It is used to paint the plate, stop-out lines when step-biting, to edit or correct plates etc.

Lascaux Soft resist

This slow-drying resist is designed to offset easily and is used for soft crayon- or pencil-like drawings or textures from collages.

Lascaux Wash Resist
Lascaux Wash resist

This tinted granular resist is used in conjunction with Lascaux Aquatint Spray Resist for effects similar to watercolour or tusche washes.

Lascaux Aquatint Spray Resist
Lascaux Aquatint spray resist

This tinted etching resist is sprayed directly onto the plate, creating layers taht are easy to control. It is used in conjunction with Lascaux Lift Solution, other cutting techniques, templating, and Lascaux Wash Resist.

Lascaux Black Coating
Lascaux Black coating for Hard resist

Lascaux Black Coating is used in conjunction with Lascaux Hard Resist and enhances visibility of the markings created with the etching instruments. The topcoat is not acid-resistant and is to be removed with water before etching. After this the plate can be processed with a stop-out resist.

Lascaux White Coating is used in conjunction with Lascaux Hard Resist and enhances visibility of the markings created with the etching instruments. The topcoat is not acid-resistant and is to be removed with water before etching. After this the plate can be processed with a stop-out resist.

Cleaning agent for stripping Lascaux Screen Filler from meshes (high pressure required), removing Lascaux acrylic resists, collagraph materials from plates, and Lascaux Tusches from smooth PVC foils.*
