Starches & Celluloses

Starches & Celluloses includes the following products:
JunFunori®

JunFunori® is the purified form of Funori, a Japanese glue extracted from the red algae genus Gloiopeltis furcata. Funori is a natural product that varies in quality and is thus subject to impurities.
The purified JunFunori is a standardised product with constant properties. It is used in conservation of art and is particularly suited for consolidating matt powdering paint layers. It can also be used as a retouching medium and for facings.
JunFunori demonstrates excellent properties which are based on a special purification process which was developed in cooperation with the Zurich University of Applied Sciences ZHAW.
JunFunori® is an international trademark owned by Lascaux and manufactured exclusively by Lascaux.
TRI-Funori™

TRI-Funori™ is a non-toxic, all-natural starch derived from seaweed (Gloiopeltis furcata) only found on the shores of the Sea of Japan. TRI-Funori is complementing JunFunori® and serves as an adhesive for conservation as well as a medium in conjunction with powdered pigments. It is delivered in cotton candy-like form and is easy to re-hydrate.
Tylose MH 300 P2

Water-soluble cellulose ether (methyl hydroxyethyl cellulose). Can also be used as adhesive for collages.
Tylose MH 1000 P2

Water-soluble cellulose ether (methyl hydroxyethyl cellulose). Can also be used as adhesive for collages.
Zin Shofu

Precipitated wheat starch. The manufacturing process of this high quality product precipitates the starch and removes the gluten. Thus the wheat starch paste becomes extra fine, and reversibility and resistance to microbial decomposition are enhanced.
